mHealth Academy

Bringing mobile healthcare from theory to reality

The mHealth academy is a comprehensive interactive workshop, designed to lead you through the complexity of planning, piloting and launching a commercial mHealth product and service.  The sessions are led by leading experts with proven experience of mHealth programme deployment.

Register for the pre-conference academy sessions and you will gain access to four 90 minute workshop sessions, each combining demonstrations, business planning exercises and role plays. The sessions will start promptly at 10am and will finish at 5pm. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. 10:00- 11:30     Introduction to mHealth
  • Overview of the healthcare landscape
  • Addressing the role of mobile technology in the healthcare ecosystem
  • What is the state of the mHealth market and what are the current and future opportunities?
  • Establishing the mHealth ecosystem and the role of each stakeholder – operators, clinicians, regulators, NGOs, public – private partnerships, software developers, vendors

11:30 – 13:00    Developing a business model for your mHealth offering. Is there a universal mHealth business model?
  • How to assess market opportunities – looking at the needs of both established and developing markets
  • Devising a market entry strategy and building a revenue model
  • Using revenue and cost models to build a realistic business plan
  • Business and partnership models: how the stakeholders work together, costs and revenues for each party
  • Assessing which are the most profitable services to deliver via mobile through subscriptions, cost-savings and efficiencies
